Foundation Stallions

There are Two known stallions from which the best Gypsy horses are believed to be descended. They are the Coal Horse and the Sonny Mays horse. Unfortunately no known pictures of these two stallions exist. Most of the Horses imported today are closely related. This makes it very important to know your horses bloodlines to ensure that certain lines are not to closely bred, resulting in genetic problems down the road.  For this reason our horses are from smaller bands, so their bloodlines are less represented in the US.

Currently one of the best known Gypsy Stallions is the Lion King.  He has recently been imported to the United States.  We are fortunate to own, Colleen, a Lion King Granddaughter.  You may view pictures of this Spectacular Stallion at the following URL The Lion King

Our mares Catriona and Lisnagh were in foal prior to import.  We chose a couple of Ireland's Finest Stallions; Brian Boru for Lisnagh and Mull of Kintyre (AKA Romeo) for Catriona, both were standing at Stud at Clononeen Farms, Brian Boru is an Irish Cob Society, "1st Premium Stallion", the highest level attainable by a stallion in Ireland.  His pictures speak for themselves.  For more information on these stallions please visit Deirdre Cash's, Clononeen Farm, Site at the links below.

For the 2007 foaling season we chose Desert Jewel Gyspy Horses stallion "Ace" for our breeding program.  He has been bred sparingly in Europe and his breeding is being selectively controlled by the owner.  We are fortunate to have 3 of our Mares approved.  We look forward to an exciting foaling season!!!
