Bad Hair Day 30 May

Cailin (Colleen) means Girl in Gaelic.

This Filly is very feminine and "girly".

Colleen was born 15 May 2004.

Colleen is a rare red and white Gypsy Vanner, with excellent bloodlines. Her previous Owner was an Irish traveler, called Boxer Tom, who had refused over $37,000 for Clodagh at the Balinsloe horse fair, while she was in foal with Colleen. Clodagh had been bred to his best stallion, Boxer Tom’s Small Horse, and the foal was much anticipated by the travelers. Boxer Tom’s circumstances changed forcing the sale of his stock. Not wanting the “Lads” to get their hands on his best horses, he made Deirdre promise not to sell them in England or Ireland.  Clodagh is off the  Lion King , making Colleen a granddaughter of one of the finest stallions in the world today. Recently the Lion King’s original breeder visited with the Cash’s and marveled over Colleen’s resemblance to her Great Grand Dam, "The P O Mare", mother of the Lion King. From conformation to markings, she resembles one of the best producing mares in the UK; her rare coloring makes her even more desirable as a future broodmare.

We are very excited to own such an exceptional filly and look forward to her foals.

Colleen was inspected at the Ohio Equine Affaire and Received a 2nd Premium Rating from an English "Traveler" Judge.  Her only fault was not having enough girth, attributed to her not yet reaching 3...the judge asked us to bring her back when she "Finishes Growing Up" and her rating would be substantially higher"

Colleen is in foal to "Playboy" for a 2008 Foal.

Colleen has over 140 hours in harness and is doing great.  The below photos were taken in February 2007.
